The Horn Playoffs AKA How to win this whole thing.

We use this formula:

[.5 * (Regular Season Points Avg)] + (Week 16 Score) + (Week 17 Score) = Total Horn Playoff Points

The Total Horn Playoff Points (THPP) will determine the winner of The Horn. With some caveats:

  • You have to win your Premier league to win the horn. There are some special cases where someone who loses in the semifinals of their league's playoffs could have enough points in week 16 to win The Horn. We want to avoid that.
  • Week 15 is the "play-in week", and the points scored in this week do not count towards your total. We didn't want the bye week players to have to field a team when they earned the right to prepare their roster for their week 16 game.
  • In other words, put together a good team, win your league, win The Horn. Simple right?

    Promotion

Major League & Minor League are identical; Win your league, and you will be promoted to the next tier.

In the Farm League two teams from each league will be promoted to the Minor League.

    1. The Champion
    2. The team with the highest single-week score during the regular season (excluding the Champion). That means that ANY team is capable of having a week that will get it promoted at any time. We chose this as our third criteria to keep everyone fully invested the whole year.

    Relegation

    Premier League:
Each league will have two relegated teams. To keep managers active that have not made it to the playoffs in their individual leagues, we are giving the winner and runner-up of the consolation playoffs (in each 12 man league) a pass on being relegated. The two relegated managers will be the two lowest seeded teams (by Fleaflicker) out of the remaining four consolation playoff teams. So that means even if a team finishes last in the regular season, they are able to escape relegation by making it to the consolation playoff championship game. The 24 Premier League managers are relegated to the Major League the following year.

The 96 Minor League managers are relegated out of NarFFL. These managers are welcome to sign up for the Farm League the following year, but that is handled in a first-come, first-served fashion.

    Farm League:
All teams that are not promoted will be removed from the league in the offseason and will have to sign up again the following year.

    Schedule

Each league in all tiers will be comprised of three divisions of four teams each. During the 14 week regular season, each team will play the other teams inside its division twice and every other team once. Six teams will make the playoffs, taking place Weeks 15-17. The top two teams will earn first round playoff byes.

    Roster

NarFFL rosters are a total of 16 players. This includes nine starters: (1) QB, (2) RB, (2) WR, (1) Flex (RB/WR/TE), (1) TE, (1) DEF, and (1) K. The bench is seven spots. There is no longer a cap to how many players you can own at any specific position.

    Trading

Trading is allowed and greatly encouraged. Once a trade is accepted, there is a 24 hour waiting period. There is no veto system in place. The NarFFL trades on the honor system, however, if any player considers a trade collusive or against the spirit of NarFFL competition, they may submit the trade for discussion to the NarFFL commissioners who will discuss the trade and take appropriate action. The trade deadline ends with the last week of the regular season (week 13). Future draft pick trading is not allowed.

    Trade Processing

If a trade is made less than 24 hours before game time, you can message the mods to get it pushed through right away.

Game Day: If you want a game-day trade to go through both parties must message the mods asking for it. The message must also include a link to the trade. Sending this message is acceptance that the trade may go through at any time before the first game, and it is your responsibility to adjust your lineup accordingly. If both players do not message the mods, the trade will be completed at the normal ending time.

    Mid-Season Advancement AKA Inactivity

If a Premier League manager fails to set his lineup twice, he will be eligible to be replaced by the top ranked Major League manager (terms of selection are subject to change). The Major League manager will be responsible for BOTH the Premier League and Major League teams through the remainder of the season. The decision is held to the individual commissioner's discretion.

If a Major League manager fails to set his lineup twice, he will be eligible to be replaced by the top ranked Minor League manager (terms of selection are subject to change). The Minor League manager will be responsible for BOTH the Major League and Minor League teams through the remainder of the season. The decision is held to the individual commissioner's discretion.

If a Minor League manager fails to set his lineup twice, he will be eligible to be replaced by the top ranked Farm League manager (terms of selection are subject to change). The Farm League manager is responsible for BOTH the Minor League and Minor League teams through the remainder of the season. The decision is held to the individual commissioner's discretion.

If a Farm League manager fails to set his lineup twice, he will be eligible to be replaced by someone on the signup list (terms of selection are subject to change). This decision is held to the individual commissioner's discretion.
